Chiropractic Adjustments

Past and present tissue injuries, as well as the same repetitive movements day-in & day-out, can lead to impaired movement throughout the body and poor posture. These all, in turn, can cause short, tight muscles and restriction within the joints of not only our spines but to the extremities as well. Joints thrive on movement and when joints are restricted they become stressed, which can cause abnormal wear & tear. Chiropractic manipulation uses a gentle force to reduce restrictions of the joints to decrease pain and stiffness, relieve muscle spasm, improve joint function, and restore their range of motion. Adjustments are the best tool to quickly and safely get you out of pain, moving better, healing faster, and back to living at your best. Many times, manipulations are used in conjunction with rehab exercises and other treatments to get you better, faster.

Acupuncture

Acupuncture is one of the oldest forms of medicine in the world as well as one of the most widely researched. Acupuncture uses small, thin needles inserted at points across the body to regulate the flow of Qi throughout the body, stimulating the body's natural healing process to decrease pain, increase circulation, decrease inflammation. Acupuncture has been hailed for its exceptional success in treating not only musculoskeletal pain but helping with stress/anxiety, headaches, fatigue, gastrointestinal issues, addiction, and many more!

Corrective Exercises

Your "homework."

Targeted and whole body rehabilitative exercises are an integral part of many patient's treatment plans. Injury and repetitive movements day-in and day-out can lead to over-stimulation of some muscles and under stimulation of others. These imbalances throughout the body can lead to impaired movement patterns, poor posture, and can increase our chances of injury. Along with your chiropractic adjustment, corrective exercises aim to:
- increase strength & stability
- "calm-down" the overactive muscles, "wake-up" the impaired muscles
- improve impaired posture
- re-train our bodies to restore proper movement patterns
- decrease the likelihood of reinjury

Many of these exercises will be performed on your own, however, Dr. Elliot will help you through them and can answer any questions you may have.
